The Foundation is committed to helping disadvantaged Hungarian people. The economic crisis burst out in the United States of America in 2008 has still today an adverse impact in Hungary, especially among people living in poorer regions. The advisory services provided by the Foundation have been insufficient for years and demand for non-refundable support is rapidly increasing.

The Foundation tries to meet requests within its means and capabilities but its resources are limited.

Nowadays, the financial environment makes life of this target group even harder, their subsistence is becoming doubtful. Many of them got trapped in debt, so either one-time aids or reducing overhead expenses do not lead to tangible results. Most of them are subject to foreclosure proceedings for the recovery of debt, therefore their housing is jeopardized. They are forced to grant custody of their children to the state because they are unable to supply food every day.

The Foundation successfully agreed with some financial undertakings and if these debtors paid a certain part of their debt in one, they would be released from the remaining part (in general, 30% of the overall debt) and the foreclosure proceedings initiated – where, in many cases, the auction date has already been set – would be terminated.

These disadvantaged people living in extreme poverty can only make the lump sum payment from grants, supports or aids. The Foundation undertakes to reduce the amount of debt by 50%, but necessary funds to cover the other 50% must be raised from external sources.

The Foundation continues to support the target group by providing advice on daily routine. Nearly 50 families turned to the Foundation for help, so the target group directly corresponds to 200 persons, counted by average four-person families. The target group accumulated an average debt of HUF 700,000-800,000. For their assistance HUF 40,000,000 would be necessary and the Foundation undertakes to provide for the reduction of such debt by HUF 20 million. Therefore, the required grant amounts to HUF 20 million, i.e. HUF 100 thousand/person in the target group.
